In 1999, a group of avid Oklahoma State University women joined together to form the OSU Women’s Giving Circle. For each founding member, OSU played a significant role in their lives: some earned degrees and/or married graduates, some owed their family’s livelihood to the University, and others were friends of OSU. These women also shared another common interest. Each wanted to give back to OSU in such a way that their gift would influence the lives of others in the OSU community.
By pooling their resources, these women have helped launch several programs to a higher level that benefit youth, the elderly and family research here at OSU. They have significantly changed the lives of promising students, including those faced with extreme financial challenges, and nontraditional and international students.
Today, equipped with an established endowment and annual giving program, the Women’s Giving Circle is influencing and affecting the lives of students, staff and faculty at OSU. Well rounded yet diverse in its membership, the Circle is an excellent compass for women who want to learn about philanthropy and actively participate in the decision-making process of where their charitable dollars are spent.
OSU Women’s Giving Circle members feel they have come full circle in their lives by leaving a legacy to positively change the lives of others at Oklahoma State University.
