Gary Clark Joins Foundation

Gary C. Clark has been named Vice President and General Counsel for the Oklahoma State University Foundation effective June 1, 2004. Prior to this position, he was in private law practice for more than 28 years, most recently as a shareholder/director in the Tulsa office of Crowe & Dunlevy.

Clark holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from Oklahoma State in agricultural education. He earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence with honors from the University of Texas School of Law. Professionally, Clark has been active in the Tulsa County and Oklahoma Bar Associations having served as President of each, as well as on the Board of Governors and as a Trustee of the Oklahoma Bar Foundation.

"I look forward to joining the OSU Foundation team and using my energy and experience to assist my alma mater pursue excellence in academics, research and athletics," Clark said. "Leaving my friends and colleagues at Crowe & Dunlevy is difficult, but this is a dream opportunity for me to work on behalf of this University which means so much to me," Clark stated.

Clark has been active in many voluntary agencies, such as Legal Aid for the Elderly and Legal Services of Eastern Oklahoma. He serves as the chairman of the board for Tulsa Lawyers for Children and Legal Counsel for the Tulsa Metro Chamber. He has been also been involved with the Boy Scouts of America, served as a Board member for the Oklahoma FFA Foundation, and is a Past President of Alpha Gamma Rho Alumni Association.

Education is a priority for Clark. He served on the Board of Regents for OSU/A&M Colleges during 1993-2001, acting as chairman in 1997-98. He has also served on the OSU-Tulsa Board of Trustees.

"Gary brings valuable experience in leadership, management and legal affairs to the OSU Foundation," commented Ross McKnight, Chairman of the OSU Foundation. “I'm pleased to add someone of Gary's caliber and stature to the senior team of the OSU Foundation. We are making excellent strides in assembling an impressive team of accomplished individuals who care greatly for this University and will move it forward in a significant manner over the next several years."

Clark received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the OSU Alumni Association in 2003. Among other honors are: Who's Who in American Law; "Best Lawyers in America" (trusts and estates and bankruptcy); Fellow, American College of Trust and Estate Counsel; TCBA Outstanding Senior Lawyer Award (1996); OBA John E. Shipp Ethics Award (1999); OBA Maurice Merrill Golden Quill Award (2003); Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America.
